The load is delivered, the invoice is out, and now comes the part nobody started a trucking company to do: figuring out what you owe your driver. For most small fleets that means a spreadsheet, a stack of rate cons, and an evening of cross-checking that this load was not already paid on last week's statement. Get it wrong in either direction and you have a problem: overpay and it comes out of your margin, underpay and you are having a hard conversation with the person you least want to lose.

Pay drivers the way you actually pay them
Small fleets do not pay one way. HaulerPro supports five pay bases, set per driver: percentage of the load, flat per load, per mile, per day, and per hour. The time-based options exist for a real pattern in this industry: the driver doing many short runs in a paid day, where per-load math punishes everyone and a day rate or hourly rate is how the deal was actually struck. Day and hour entries work in quarter steps, so a half day is a half day and 6.5 hours is 6.5 hours.
Mixed arrangements work too. A time-based driver can still have a per-load override on specific loads, and the statement resolves both on one document: time lines grouped first, load lines after, one total.
No double pay, enforced by the system
The classic settlement error is paying the same load or the same day twice across two statements. HaulerPro blocks it: when you build a statement, dates already settled on a previous statement are blocked with an explanation, and a load already paid does not resolve as payable again. Deleting a settlement frees its dates, so corrections stay clean instead of creating orphaned records.
Preview before you commit
Every statement starts as a preview: the period's loads, the time entries, the math, all visible before you generate anything. For time-based drivers, delivered loads without a pay override still appear as a reference section with no pay columns, so the statement shows the work behind the pay instead of leaving the driver guessing what was counted.
Drivers see their own statements in the app
Once generated, the statement is not a PDF you have to remember to text out. Drivers get a read-only Settlements view in their own app: every statement, newest first, with the period, load count, total, and the same statement view you see, company logo and all. Read-only means read-only: no editing, no deleting, no visibility into anyone else's pay. Drivers can print or save a PDF if they want paper.
